Two women arrested for buying jewelry with bad checks: Lyndhurst Police Blotter

LYNDHURST

FRAUD, MAYFIELD ROAD: A Paris woman, 36, and a Cuyahoga Falls woman, 36, were arrested for passing bad checks after they used checks with insufficient funds to buy jewelry Nov. 4 at three jewelry stores in the city: Robert & Gabriel Jewelers, 5244 Mayfield; IMG Jewelers, 5470 Mayfield; and Hillcrest Jewelers, 5652 Mayfield. Police received calls about the same women doing similar activity at Howard's Jewelry Center in Mayfield Heights and several other jewelry stores in Northeast Ohio. They were stopped and arrested on Mayfield in South Euclid and sent to the county jail.

CARRYING A CONCEALED WEAPON, THORNBURY ROAD: A Cleveland man, 19, was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon and a boy, 17, will be filed on in juvenile court for carrying a concealed weapon and falsification after a handgun was found in their vehicle Sunday at Thornbury and Richmond roads. The boy gave police a false name and birthdate.

CARRYING A CONCEALED WEAPON, EAST FARNHURST ROAD: A Maple Heights man, 18, was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon and a boy, 17, will be filed on in juvenile court for the same charge after a handgun was found in their vehicle Sunday at East Farnhurst Road and Parkview Drive.

DRUG ABUSE, MAYFIELD ROAD: A boy, 16, will be filed on in juvenile court for possession of marijuana after a traffic stop Nov. 1 at Mayfield and Irene roads.

THEFT, CROYDEN ROAD: Two residents of a group home said they had a total of $13 in cash stolen from their wallets Nov. 1.

ASSAULT, MAYFIELD ROAD: A man said two men assaulted him Nov. 4 at Scalpers Bar & Grill, 5718 Mayfield. The case has been referred to the city prosecutor due to conflicting stories.

SUSPICION, LYNDHURST ROAD: A woman said her two children told her two men in a green pickup stopped Nov. 3 in front of their house, where they were playing outside, got out of the truck and started running toward the children. No words were exchanged. The men then got back into the truck and head toward Mayfield Road.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE, HANSFORD ROAD: A man said someone keyed his vehicle Oct. 31.

HARASSMENT, MAYFIELD ROAD: An employee at Amy Joy Donuts said Oct. 28 he was getting harassing phone calls from an ex-employee.

HARASSMENT, OAKMONT DRIVE: A woman said Oct. 25 her ex-boyfriend called and threatened her and her children.

DRIVING WITHOUT A LICENSE, CEDAR ROAD: A South Euclid man, 21, was cited for driving without a license Oct. 27 after a traffic stop at Legacy Village. Suspected marijuana was found in the vehicle.
