SANTA ANA ( KTLA) – Three men ran into a jewelry store Thursday afternoon and pulled off a fast-moving smash and grab robbery, making off with thousands of dollars in jewelry.

But the entire crime was captured on surveillance video and now police have a good look of at least one of the robbers' faces.

Thursday afternoon, the three men double-parked a black, two-door car outside the store around 12:15 p.m., Santa Ana Cpl. Anthony Bertagna said.

They ran inside, smashed a 20-foot-long display case, "and grabbed as much jewelry as they possibly could," Bertagna said.

The surveillance video clearly shows the robbers run into the store. One man, armed with a sledge hammer, smashed the cases while two others grabbed the jewelry.

Exactly how much was stolen is still being counted.

Nobody was hurt, Bertagna said.

The same trio is suspected of pulling off a similar robbery last week.

The previous burglary took place around 12:15 p.m. Friday.

Investigators say the same three men ran into Valencia Jewelers in the 200 block of West Fourth Street and smashed a 20-foot-long display case and escaped with as much jewelry as they could carry.
