“Ketterman's Staying Open”

Despite a flurry of Internet reports that spelled the end for one of the town's most well regarded jewelry stores, Ketterman's Jewelers is not going anywhere.

A Facebook posting announcing the closure of the family-owned business's Vienna location confused many of the store's long-time customers, with many frantically calling the Virginia Village store Monday afternoon.

Richlyn Ketterman, one of the owners' daughters, happily reported that the whole thing was a miscommunication. Because of an illness in the family, the company will be closing its Vienna store by month's end and bringing all of that inventory to the Leesburg location, meaning more options for customers. A physical expansion of the store is not anticipated at this time, although Ketterman wouldn't rule that out for the future.

"We hope to remain in the town for many years to come," she said.

Ketterman's Jewelers is located at 38 Catoctin Circle SE #C in the Virginia Village Shopping Center. The store can be reached at 703-777-0033 or www.kettermans.com.
