Police have arrested a teenager following thefts from several Toronto-area jewelry stores. The arrest came after police released photos and surveillance video of a man trying on a ring and then bolting. Amir Seyed Hossein Yagoubi-Araghi, 18, of Richmond Hill, Ont., was taken into custody Wednesday night. Police allege Yagoubi-Araghi stole several high-priced rings from eight jewelry stores since January. No injuries were reported in the thefts. Yagoubi-Araghi is charged with eight counts of theft over $5,000 and has a court appearance today in Newmarket. |
